Today is October 5th, which is especially important as it is the official release date for Windows 11. It’s all the more special since Microsoft’s latest desktop operating system is not. only good … it’s Great. Yes, it’s probably the best version of Windows ever, and if you’re a Windows user, you should definitely upgrade if your computer is compatible.
Unfortunately, it’s a pretty big “if” this time around. You see, Microsoft is pretty strict with system requirements, which means a lot of computers won’t be compatible or officially supported. While Windows 10 will continue to be supported for a while, it’s understandable that some users will want to jump ship immediately knowing that their PC has no future in Microsoft’s eyes. Fortunately, these users have a wonderful alternative to Windows 11 – Linux!

If you are ready to try MX Linux 21 RC 1, you can download it here now. Should you replace Windows 10 with MX Linux today? No, not right away – you should try it out first and make sure it fully meets your needs. Also, keep in mind that this is just a release release and not the final release. Having said that, it should be pretty stable at this point. At the very least, you should wait for the final stable release before making a decision.
