Critical Darling of 2021 from Double Fine Productions, Psychonauts 2finally releasing on macOS and Linux in the very near future.
A new update on Psychonauts 2 Fig page states; “Mac and Linux versions will be available on all major storefronts next week.” It is stated that “for those of you willing to play these versions, you do not need to request an additional game key. Everything will be provided on your Humble Games page. Please contact Humble for assistance , but remember that they are not live yet.
He also noted that “time has been taken to ensure they are solid ports”, hence the long wait since the title’s initial release on Windows and Xbox platforms. Additionally, the game now also supports Russian and Latin American Spanish language options, with in-game signs and directions being changed to accommodate the new languages as well as subtitles.
Released 16 years after the original, Psychonauts 2 once again, players control former circus performer and psychic agent Raz in another 3D action platformer. The game was initially funded through a campaign on Fig which raised around £3m before developer Double Fine was acquired by Microsoft, who would then fund the rest of the game’s development.
