Xiaomi’s MIUI 12 has gradually rolled out to eligible devices over the past few months and we have a well-maintained dedicated tracker to keep an eye on that.

In the spirit of looking for the next big thing, this article is dedicated to tracking all of the early MIUI 13 details that we know of so far.

MIUI 12 has made countless improvements to qualifying Xiaomi devices. Major changes for users include a redesigned notification shade and the adoption of a new iOS-inspired Control Center.

Privacy has also taken center stage with countless tools included, all aimed at giving the user firm control over their data. For a list of all the changes MIUI 12 has made to devices, see the MIUI Change Log 12.

Ideally, MIUI 13 should further improve these features and bring even more user-centric features. While it’s still early enough to definitely say what features will be coming, here’s what we know about the MIUI 13 update.

Update 1 (April 29)

After unveiling MIUI 12, it turns out that Xiaomi already had an eye on the future, with reports revealing that the Chinese tech giant has an ongoing investigation aimed at getting user ideas on some of the features it has. they would like to see in MIUI 13 update.

Update 2 (May 29)

Update 3 (July 7)

An app recently surfaced on the Google Play Store named MIUI 13 Update Download. Please note that this is not an official Xiaomi app and therefore fake.

Update 4 (September 18)

We may be saying our goodbyes to the good old MIUI Power menu soon, as it should pave the way for a new shutdown animation in the next version of MIUI 13.

Update 5 (September 25)

IST 5:40 p.m .: A new video shared to the official MIUI 12 community on Telegram appears to show off the power menu design that is allegedly part of MIUI 13. It looks like the screenshots we shared above.

IST 5:45 p.m .: In the second round of the Mi Engineer Face to Face Q&A session, Xiaomi claims that it plans to allow users to develop awesome custom wallpapers. Update 8 (October 12)

IST 7:35 pm: Although the development of MIUI 13 is still in its early stages, there are a few new features that we could see coming with the next version of MIUI.

We expect to see new animations, theme designs, improved gestures, native screen recording, improved Always on Display, new filters for photos and videos, improved power saving mode, handling improved notifications, and more.

Update 9 (October 13)

Update 12 (October 30)

IST 6.30 p.m .: Xiaomi is ready for its Mi Developer Conference (MIDC) from November 5 to 7. This has led some to believe that the company may unveil its next skin for Android – MIUI 13. Check out all the details here.

Update 13 (November 03)

IST 6:11 p.m .: New developments suggest that Xiaomi has tweaked its MIUI 12 beta update release schedule, which affects the nightly release and public beta versions. It is likely that the changes will affect versions of MIUI 13 in the future as well. Full story here.

Update 14 (November 20)

IST 4:20 p.m .: According to a Mi Community mod, Xiaomi will present MIUI 13 in the second quarter of 2021. However, the information should be taken with care as the moderators are not employees of the company and therefore are not aware of inside information. Full coverage here.

12:29 (IST): Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 and Mi Note 11 were spotted on the official HTML source code with MIUI 13 as the software running the show out of the box.

Update 17 (March 20, 2021)

5:52 p.m. (IST): A super moderator from the Mi community has hinted that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 is eligible for the MIUI 13 update. For more details, check out this.

Update 18 (May 5, 2021)

3:16 p.m. (IST): MIUI 13 is expected to launch this year in June, according to a new report. However, the Mi 9 series might never see the light of the update. For more details, head here.
