Texas Crime Stoppers, funded by the governor’s Criminal Justice Division, offers cash rewards to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest of one of Texas’ top 10 most wanted refugees or sex offenders. That year, DPS and other agencies arrested 20 people from Texas’ top 10 most wanted lists, including eight gang members and nine sex offenders. In addition, $ 38,500 was paid in rewards for tips that led to arrests.

To be eligible for cash rewards, tipsters MUST provide information to authorities using one of the following three methods:

• Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).

• Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about and then clicking the link under his picture.

• Send a Facebook tip by clicking the “SEND TIP†link (in the “About†section).

• All tips are anonymous – regardless of how they are submitted – and tipsters are given a tip number instead of a name.

DPS investigators work with local law enforcement agencies to select refugees for the list of the top 10 most wanted refugees and sex offenders in Texas. The current lists – with photos – can be found on the DPS website.

Do not try to arrest these refugees; they are considered armed and dangerous.
